Rules for accepting or rejecting an application for registration or
renewal of registration made in pursuance of Section 15(2) of the Architects
Registration Ordinance (ARO)

Application for registration shall be in
line with Section 14(1) of the ARO. Applicants are required to complete the
relevant application form and to submit all requisite supporting documents and
to observe the submission guidelines where appropriate:

- Requirements of professional interview:
- HKIA's Examination for Architects Registration (to be
endorsed annually by Architects Registration Board) is considered as one
satisfying 13(1)(a)(iii) of ARO.
- Applicant's qualifications shall be vetted according to
Section 13 of ARO.
- The Registration Committee shall recommend to the Board
for accepting or rejecting an application and the Board shall accept or reject
such application.
- Where the Board rejects an application for registration
or renewal of registration, it shall give reasons for the rejection (Section
15(3) of ARO).
- The Registrar shall notify the applicant the result of
application in writing.
